Logging In and Navigating the Dashboard

This article explains how to log in to Essal Office and describes the main areas of the interface you'll use every day.


Logging In

Open your Essal Office URL in a web browser. You'll be presented with the login screen.

Enter your email address and password, then click Log In. If your organization has two-factor authentication enabled for your account, you'll be prompted for your authentication code before proceeding.

Forgot your password? Click the Forgot password? link on the login screen. You'll receive a reset email within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.

Account locked or not working? Contact your Essal Office administrator — they can reset your password or check whether your account is active.


The Dashboard

After logging in, you land on the Dashboard — your starting point for daily work.

Saved View Tiles

The dashboard displays tiles for any Saved Views you've pinned to it. Each tile shows a live count of documents currently matching that view's filters, and clicking a tile opens the document list filtered to those results.

If your dashboard is empty, it means no saved views have been pinned yet. See Customizing Your Dashboard to add tiles.

Upload Button

The Upload button in the top area of the dashboard opens a file picker to upload a new document. You can also drag and drop files directly onto the dashboard — or anywhere else in the app — to trigger an upload.

Statistics Summary

Depending on your account permissions, the dashboard may also show summary statistics: total documents in the archive, documents added this month, and recent activity.


The Sidebar

The collapsible sidebar on the left side of the screen is your main navigation tool.

  • Sidebar Item: **Dashboard**
  • What it opens: Returns to the dashboard tile view


  • Sidebar Item: **Documents**
  • What it opens: The full document list — all documents you have access to


  • Sidebar Item: **Saved Views**
  • What it opens: A list of your saved filtered views; pinned views appear here directly


  • Sidebar Item: **Tags**
  • What it opens: Browse and manage all tags


  • Sidebar Item: **Correspondents**
  • What it opens: Browse and manage correspondents


  • Sidebar Item: **Document Types**
  • What it opens: Browse and manage document types


  • Sidebar Item: **Mail**
  • What it opens: Email import accounts and rules


  • Sidebar Item: **Workflows**
  • What it opens: Automated workflow rules


  • Sidebar Item: **Settings**
  • What it opens: Application and account settings

Slim sidebar: Click the sidebar toggle icon (the arrow at the top of the sidebar) to collapse it into a narrow icon-only rail — useful when you want more space for the document list.


The Top Bar

At the top of every page you'll find:

  • Global search bar — searches across documents, tags, correspondents, document types, and more. Start typing and results appear immediately.
  • User menu (your avatar/initials, top right) — opens your profile, account settings, and the sign-out option.

The Document List

Selecting Documents from the sidebar opens the document list — the central workspace in Essal Office. From here you can:

  • Browse all documents in your archive
  • Filter by tags, correspondent, document type, date, and more
  • Switch between table view, small card view, and large card view
  • Select one or many documents for bulk actions
  • Click any document to open its detail panel
