Sharing a Document via Link

You can share any document in Essal Office with people who do not have an account by generating a shareable link. Anyone with the link can view and download the document — no login required.

Creating a Share Link

  1. Open the document in Essal Office
  2. Click the Share button in the document toolbar
  3. Click Create link (or toggle sharing on)

A unique URL is generated for this document. Copy it using the copy button.

Sending the Link

You can share the link in any way you normally share links — paste it into an email, a chat message, or a document. Recipients click the link and land on a read-only view of the document where they can download it.

Note: Anyone with the link can access the document. Do not share links for sensitive documents unless you are confident in who will receive the URL.

Removing a Share Link

If you need to revoke access:

  1. Open the document
  2. Click Share
  3. Click Remove link (or toggle sharing off)

The existing link immediately stops working. If you need to share the document again later, a new link is generated with a different URL.

Share Links Are Per-Document

Each share link applies to a single document. There is no way to share an entire folder or saved view with an external link — only individual documents. If you need to share multiple documents, generate a link for each one.

Sharing vs. Granting User Access

Share links are intended for one-off or temporary sharing with people outside your organisation. For colleagues who need regular access to documents in Essal Office, see Users, Groups, and Permissions instead — add them as users with the appropriate permission level.
