Notification Preferences
Essal Office can send you email notifications when specific events occur — such as when a workflow fires, when a document is shared with you, or when a new document arrives that requires your attention. You can control which notifications you receive.
Accessing Notification Settings
- Click your username or avatar in the top-right corner
- Select Profile or Account settings
- Look for the Notifications section
Types of Notifications
Depending on your Essal Office configuration, available notification types may include:
- Notification: **Workflow notification**
- When you receive it: When a workflow's "send email notification" action fires and targets you
- Notification: **Document shared with you**
- When you receive it: When another user grants you access to a specific document
- Notification: **Processing complete**
- When you receive it: When a batch of documents finishes OCR processing
- Notification: **Custom alerts**
- When you receive it: Defined by your administrator through workflows
Enabling and Disabling Notifications
Toggle each notification type on or off. Changes apply to your account only. Other users' notification preferences are not affected.
If a notification type does not appear, it may not be configured on your Essal Office instance. Contact your administrator to enable additional notification types.
Workflow-Based Notifications
Many notifications in Essal Office are delivered through the workflow system rather than as a fixed notification type. An administrator can configure a workflow with an "Send email notification" action targeted at specific users or groups.
If you want to receive alerts for specific document events (e.g. a new contract arrives, an invoice exceeds a certain amount), ask your administrator to set up a workflow with a notification action.
Notification Emails
Notification emails come from the email address configured for your Essal Office instance. If you aren't receiving expected emails:
- Check your spam or junk folder
- Add the Essal Office sender address to your contacts or allow-list
- Contact your administrator to verify the mail sending configuration is working
Turning Off All Non-Essential Notifications
If you are receiving too many emails, disable notification types you don't action. Keep only the alerts that prompt you to take meaningful action. Workflow-based notifications are controlled by your administrator — ask them to adjust the workflow if those emails are excessive.
