Slow Performance and Loading Issues
If Essal Office feels sluggish — pages take a long time to load, search results are slow to appear, or document previews take a long time — these steps can help identify the cause.
Check Your Internet Connection
Essal Office is a web application. A slow or unstable internet connection will directly affect performance. Run a quick speed test to confirm your connection is healthy. If you are on a lower connection (e.g. mobile data), try switching to a faster connection.
Try a Different Browser
Browser extensions, cache issues, or outdated browsers can slow down web applications. Try the following:
- Open Essal Office in a different browser (e.g. if you normally use Chrome, try Firefox or Edge)
- Or open an incognito/private window in your current browser (this disables extensions and starts without cached data)
If performance is noticeably better in a different browser or private mode, the issue is browser-specific.
Clear Your Browser Cache
A corrupted browser cache can cause slow loading or display problems:
- In your browser, go to Settings > Clear browsing data (or similar)
- Clear cached images and files
- Reload Essal Office
Large Document Lists
If you have tens of thousands of documents, displaying an unfiltered document list without any filters can be slow. Try:
- Adding filters to narrow the list before browsing
- Using saved views that apply filters automatically
- Changing results per page to a lower number
Slow Document Preview
Large PDF files with many pages take longer to render a preview. This is normal for files over 20–50 MB or documents with 100+ pages. The document is still accessible — simply wait for the preview to load, or download the file to view it in a local PDF viewer for faster rendering.
Slow OCR Processing
If newly uploaded documents are taking a long time to appear as fully processed:
- This is normal during periods of heavy upload activity
- OCR processing is queued — high volumes process sequentially
- Check the task queue to see how many tasks are pending
Server-Side Performance Issues
If performance is consistently slow for all users in your organisation, the issue is likely server-side. Contact your Essal Office administrator to investigate server load, storage, or database performance.
